Drekavac / Slavic Mythology Creature

Drekavac, painted for Librum Prodigiosum. This is a demon from Slavic mythology. There are many beliefs on how Drekavac came to be, but most agree that, due to one reason or another, it comes to be from a deceased child. It is described as having a thin body and a bit oversized head. Drekavac makes loud, terrible noises and screeches and can be found at night in cemeteries or woods.
